The Happy Readers is a blog devoted to books, reading, and life in general.  My children and I have been reading together for over 2100 days.  It is quite a gift for all of us.

I have a Masters of Science in Education from Bank Street College.  I was a teacher in NYC and Cambridge, MA.  I taught 1st and 3rd grade.  After my daughter was born, I was home full time.  Reading is a very important part of all our lives.

My daughter, Anastasia is 16, a sophomore in High School.  She is an avid reader.  Any chance she can get, she’ll be reading.  She writes for the HS paper and last year started a club called Read to Me.  HS students go to the Elementary School in town and read to the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades every week.  She is in charge of all the Instagram posts.

My son, Thomas, is 13, and in 7th grade.  He is not as much of a reader, but he does enjoy it when he gets that “perfect book”.  And, he still enjoys me reading to him.  He is an avid golfer, so we are always looking for golf books – anyone know of books about Jordan Spieth or Justin Thomas?  He is my “tech guy” for this blog, and has been doing a great job.
