Happy Monday 🌼

Did you read to your kids this weekend?  We had a bit of a crazy Friday afternoon, so that threw off our reading for both Friday and Saturday.  Friday, we didn’t get home from the kids checkup until 5:30, our son had to be dropped at school to work the Audio/Visual at one of the events, hubby and I had dinner plans with friends, and our daughter hung out here with one of her friends.  Usually, if we have plans, I will read the kids their chapter books before going out, but we didn’t have time – I guess its good to have a social life! 😊

When I got home, we decided to read a picture book (that’s one of our ‘guidelines”, we can always read picture books. I hate to say it’s a fallback, because we still enjoy reading the picture books.)  My son chose Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes.  We have all of the Kevin Henkes ‘mouse books.’  We have always enjoyed them, especially when the kids were little.  Wemberly Worried, and most of Kevin Henkes picture books, give a voice to children and their fears.  Wemberly was worried about going to school for the first time.  He decided to bring his favorite stuffed animal, and he quickly found a friend. Children can relate to this, and the illustrations are perfect.  Many of his Mouse books are like this, relating the fears of a child and showing them, with a little guidance, everything will be okay.  (

Here is a list of the Kevin Henkes ‘mouse books.’  You will enjoy all of them.  Happy Reading!📚💕📚
